I am a 860 day clean exsmoker thanks to a large extent to you guys and this site, but yesterday I went to an office to quote a painting job and the two clients came outside the building and both lit up and offered me a cig, which I refused and said I did not smoke. This is the first time I have confronted this situation with strangers, and I initially felt guilty. I then quickly decided I should not feel this way but should be proud and sympathise with these persons who I can so easily identify with after previously being 55 years a smoker. I am truly grateful.

Old habits die hard and the biggest challenge we have it to challenge those habits. You came through with flying colours - well done.

Hi there Warts, you are amazing. I can only imagine how tough it's been after smoking for that long, but you've done it. Congratulations on achieving such a massive amount of days smoke free! Also for saying no - it's times like that when your taken off guard so you did well to refuse. You should be really proud!
