Strength to give up

After years of smoking I decided it was time to give up. I wanted to stop wasting money on cigarettes and put the money towards my future, my main reason was wanting a baby. I started on Champix 9 days ago and I have to be honest they have made me feel awful. I have really bad nausea everyday, I feel so tired all the time. I have strange dreams and over the past couple of days I've felt so spaced out, lifeless and fed up. I keep thinking I'm doing this for good reasons and I need to stick at it but the way they are making me feel I want to just come off the tablets. I have to admit I'm going off smoking. I don't crave for one so much and when I do have one it makes me feel sick. Is this really how it should make someone feel or are they not agreeing with me??

Hi Dell, When you take the Champix tablet you must have something to eat with it. It will take away the nausea. The dreams are from the nicotine withdrawal. Sometimes the Champix can give you a random weird one but the majority of symptoms are the nicotine withdrawal. I have the weakest stomach and I have been on Champix since the 30th May this year and because I take them with food I have had no problems at all.

I hope you feel better soon.

Kind regards

Hi,

I'm on day 15 of taking champix tablets, 8 days so far smoke free. The morning ones make me feel a bit sick but I also find that if I keep busy and make sure I take it after breakfast I don't notice the nausea. Weird dres so far have consisted of me still smoking. I am missing it a bit. But I know I'm far better off without it and they're just dreams. Just keep thinking about the reasons you want to give up. You will get there
