forgetting to smoke

schedule 24 Aug 2015

I wasn't going to post for a couple of weeks until my son got married, but I wanted to see how Nannette was doing, so I thought I'd post. I have been smoke free for 33 days today. Cold turkey. I've had my moments, and my worst moment is coming home from work or shopping and having a smoke before starting dinner, or doing chores. I do not have so much trouble being around other smokers, because I think it stinks. It would be nice if my house was totally smoke free, as my son smokes and my husband has the occasional one.....Good luck everyone. See you in a couple of weeks and Nannette, hang in there.....

And I am forgetting to smoke, not thinking about it so much.....

schedule 24 Aug 2015

HI Lindavan, Awwwwww you are so sweet making sure Im still on track. Im pretty proud of myself as today is Day 55 which I cant believe, but Im 1500 dollars ahead and Im surprised how much the money component is motivating me. Im now charging everyone $2 a day at home which I have been putting into a tin in the kitchen and I already have $32 so this money will be nice for our holiday in January. My 18 year old daughter is home from Uni at the moment and there has been some testing times, but I have not given in. Like you my husband smokes as does my eldest daughter, but I have not given in. Anyway they are soooo proud of me they have told me point blank they wouldn't give me a dart.

I can relate to what you are saying about the dart when you get home from work, the one before tea, and the one after tea and the one before bed. Now I just drink TEA and Im not game to count how many cups I have, especially over the weekend, but rather TEA than darts. My daughter has only had six darts in a week so my actions have certainly influenced hers. Patches are sitting by the bed for my husband who assures me a quit date is definitely getting closer. I still have my star chart in the kitchen and my seven year old daughter Claire proudly draws a star on every night.

So its all going well, and Im so organised now and getting heaps done at work and home and the ironic part is Im less stressed and anxious now.I have a little list of 1/2 hour round to it jobs that I attack like cleaning out a draw or sorting through papers and that has helped.

I hope your sons wedding goes well and look forward to you posting the big 50 days, it feels sooo good. XX
