I have smoked for 47 years did not drink but enjoyed my cigs I had the usual smokers cough .
Until I coughed up blood guess what
Yes you are correct went to the hospital and had a X-ray nothing showed up then I had a ct scan which every smoker should have at least once a year
The ct scan showed up a cancer I then had to have a biopsy to confirm it which it did I have not smoked for over a month now a little late but I will be starting radiation and chemo in two weeks prognosis not sure but I will be fighting.
Maybe my story will help others actually stop this insidious habit.

Thank you John for sharing your story. This morning I just want to smoke....and was very close to taking it up again after 19 days free. It is evil and ridiculously addictive and always a huge crutch for me. Your story made me think again , there are consequences with our actions .

Hi John, Thankyou for taking the time to post. I have to admit your post flawed me. As I looked away from the ipad I looked over at my two daughters and I cried. As you say it is such an insidious habit and we just keep doing it with no thought as to the consequences for ourselves or those that we love. I pray and hope that you gather every ounce of strength and fight to beat it. I also pray that you are supported and loved as you take this journey. Thank you for your brave post Im sure you will have strengthened everyone's resolve to quit for the last time, your psot has had a profound effect on me. HI John so sorry to hear the news about your cancer you know John we have a God that we cannot put limitations on and I believe that if your cancer in his hands the results will amazing for the good I will keep you in my prayers and have faith God honors faith and he knows what's in your heart I have grown to have a deep hatred for smoking cigarettes and I am quitting cold turkey just going to leave it in God's hands and be strong but truly believe God will heal you if you are obedient and don't return to cigarettes and trust him with your whole being going to pray hard for you love you brother have faith take heart and trust in God well God bless you brother look forward to hearing your good news soon sincerely Bill Henderson.
