All the "hype"about quitting is rubbish. I have smoked for 55 years. Have no health issues that can be/are directly related/attributed to smoking. Health issues, accordingly to the "professionals" relate to being an Air Traffic Controller and Air Safety Investigator as well as having experienced 2 Civil Wars (Biafra and Congo), the Chinese Cultural Revolution and severe "industrial" accidents/injuries whilst at sea (PTSD). I maintain a healthy lifestyle, eat chemical free food (grown by ourselves) and am very physically active, run Siberian Huskies, grow cattle and maintain a 2 hectare garden.
Today, after moving 2 tons of hay and feeding cattle, I really needed to relax and unwind. Normally have a smoke and cup of tea with a smoke. How do I do it now?
Hi huskie. I find it a challenge when I have finished a job too. I used to finish that and have a smoke and cuppa. Now I have tea instead of coffee and check my email , the icanquit site, or read a bit of the paper. Good luck with your efforts

That's the hard thing- finding new ways to relax. I have similar issues but found reading this site helpful and also participating in it. I also started crosswords and read a bit to keep my mind occupied. You have been lucky to avoid the illness's from smoking, I know others that haven't been so fortunate. Best of luck.
