I gave up smoking last night. I am 14 weeks pregnant and have 2 kids aged 3 and 5. I gave up when pregnant with my littlie but took it up again about a year ago. I know I need to quit, so am fighting off cravings like a ninja, but the problem I am having is that I am not good at quitting. I have no patience for the poor kids and get cranky at them over silly things. my husband gets in trouble for opening the door too loudly, everything is so dramatic. how can I do this without starring my kids for life? (for the.record, I never hit them, its just being really angry and cranky at everything)

When I was pregnant, admittedly 25 years ago, when smoking and pregnancy were still somewhat acceptable, the doctor said to me that it was probably preferable for the baby to have one cigarette a day than get so horribly stressed about not smoking at all. If I were you....sneak into a corner once a day and have a ciggie, just one! Perhaps you'll forget about it one day. I think the more you punish yourself, the more you'll stress about it.
