Day 23 Here I go

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 23 Jul 2015

As I begin the journey of adopting new habits to replace that really bad one, I ponder what new habits to adopt. I decide my new life is going to be super organised and super clean. So in pursuit of this new life my home is in a mess and now my work office is as well as there is no stopping me as I throw everything away. Thankyou Feather for motivating me with your clean cupboard post. So I now maintain sense of humour in the face of complete mess mayhem. No time for a dart. Sorry got to go, garbages to empty, need to remove all tripping hazards. Good luck all

Hi again Nannette. The mindfulness app is Headspace, I absolutely love it, and have meditated with it everyday for nearly six months. Btw, I've never even considered meditation before, but have found a much calmer mind. If you google Ted Talk and Andy Puddicombe he does a ten minute talk on Headspace. You can download the first ten days for free, and just keep using them, or subscribe. I think it cost me just over $100 for a year, I haven't regretted a cent of it! What I think I would have found most helpful in the early days of my quit are the SOS three minute meditations, very calming and last about as long as a craving! Anyway try it if you're interested, and if you find it helpful I've got a code for a month free you are welcome to.

Sounds like a nice thing to do, quitting or not. Thank you for sharing this. I don't know much about meditation, but will have a look.

Hi Dottily. thankyou sooo much for getting back to me with the mindfulness information. The quit journey is so crazy, you set out to stop smoking and you end up on a journey that is sooo much more than that. It's like a journey of self discovery as you realise that to move forward you need to develop NEW habits. I will try it sounds good.i cannot believe how much I'm learning about myself as each day passes and how much more confidence I have not having to rely on darts any more. Thankyou Ill let you know how I go.
