Champix side effects

I've been on Champix for about 6 weeks now and thought the only side effects so far had been the horrible nightmares consisting mostly of violence and the occasional random dream but after having an argument with my fiancé  he explained that for a couple of months now i have been moody, agressive and emotionless. It didn't register with me as to what was going on and i figured id fallen out of love and didn't realize it. Without warning i cancelled our upcoming wedding and truly believed i was doing the right thing. Then afterwards i couldn't for the life of me figure out why i would do that when i have been happily arranging our life together day by day. I'm wondering if champix side effects could have been involved in this.

Previous to starting champix i had read there was possible mood altering side effects but after clearing it with my dr i thought it was safe to go ahead. I have an extensive history with severe anxiety and depression and was diagnosed with a personality disorder and bipolar in 2011.

The only positive to all of this is that i have been smoke free for 7 weeks. Just not sure if the self destruction is worth it  #feelingconfused

That's sounds very alarming. Have you booked back into your doctor to ask if Champix could be causing this? Or maybe your Psychologist? I would suggest to do this as soon as possible.

I'm seeing my GP this coming Tuesday and trying to bring my psychiatrist appointment forward as it's still a month away so I'm just waiting for a cancellation. I'm also starting up my psychology again just to get my head clear of all negative thinking and back on track to success. I am glad I've been able to quit smoking on the champix though :)

Hi Court, I was told by my Dr that I couldn't take Champix as I have an anxiety disorder and my medication AND champix is not a good idea. It's been 7 weeks for you so maybe just stop taking them and check with your Dr
