Hi,

Well I'm on day 60 now, which is great. But unfortunately I am still having the nicobate chewing gum and lozenges. It seems if I take away the nicotine I lose my resolve.

How long has it taken you guys? Should I still feel good about not smoking, I feel like my mind is playing tricks on me to smoke as I haven't succeeded cold turkey.

Does it really matter, I now have another vice?

Sorry just need reassurance.

Hi Sharon, I am on day 59, started with the patches but found I was allergic to them so from week 3 went cold turkey, which was much harder but still think about a ciggie, briefly but have found that I know my triggers (and believe me I have a few ) and had plans in place ( wash the car, clean that cupboard ) to divert the carving, I feel like a child on days it was like I was having a tantrum, I want 1, why can't I have just 1 then would have tears streaming down my face. I can laugh at that now but it does get easier. maybe just cut down over time and also read the section on this site about identifying your triggers and how to cope with them. good luck and don't forget "You have not had a smoke for 60 days" you should be very proud of what you have achieved.

Thanks so much Jenny I really appreciate your feed back. I completely understand the tantrums lol I will take your advice on working out my triggers and cut down and ultimately stop taking nicotine replacements. Well done to you too were at the same stage. I love not smelling anymore and yes all that extra money. Thanks again I I wish you the best :)
