95 Days

95 days...what the?...I am struggling to believe it is possible...everyday I celebrate that I am a non-smoker....everyday of the week I have an extra $30 in my pocket...i can taste food...I can walk that hill...I am a big, strong man but often get emotional about the journey.

2 weeks ago I purchased a new 4x4 in preparation for a massive family camping holiday...to me this car is free...the loan repayments are not even close to my week spending on smokes...that is a hideous fact and demonstrates how we are held hostage to our habit and in turn we harm our families.

Smoking, and the hold it has on us, destroys us and it is our enemy....the war started as a physical thing for me (and Champix was my ally)...the mental aspects are a fight much easier to win.

This realisation took 30 odd years....never give up giving up!

Great effort, took me 30 odd years as well. Now nearing 2 years smoke free and exercising 5-6 days a week and fittest I've been in 47 years. Keep at it and enjoy the 4 wheel driving. :)

Another great story. I love reading them. Well done, you & your family so deserve the 4x4 - enjoy it all you can. It's taken me 26 years. I always told myself I'd give up at 30 then I extended it to 35 finally at 42 I've made it. Thank goodness! Well done to you too Tinman, 2 years is amazing.
