Well I've made 18 months after being a 30 year smoker. Yes it was damn hard and still is at times. I doubt if I could have done it without champix. I've saved over $5000 on tobacco now not to mention the health benefits. Went out and bought a Harley Davidson because I could. Anyone can do it if you really want to.

Wow....That's literally put a big smile on my face so I can just imagine how you must feel. I'm so very happy for you. It's such a wonderful achievement. I've finally done 10 weeks & am excited about that. I look forward to being in your shoes. Enjoy the Harley, nice one!

Thanks Bronte. You too will get there. Don't let anyone or anything stop you. :-)

Thanks for that, I will look it up, any help is appreciated. Even though I've stopped smoking I think I still suffer some kind of mental addiction. I always worry that it will get me when I'm down. Yesterday after a rather difficult & lengthy conversation with my mother in law I honestly just wanted to give in but once again held off. So....this is just another one of my many mornings of relief. My worry is though, that I won't be able to keep convincing myself not to because I know that when you really want one sometimes your brain can switch off and it deliberately ignores the fact that you actually don't want to smoke, it deliberately makes you avoid things such as going to this site to remind yourself and you conveniently forget that you have many a list of 'quit reasons'. You can literally avoid all the other strategies you've put in place to stop you from taking that downward step, I know this from previous quit experiences. So far what I'm doing seems to be working but I still worry - I am hoping that my determination will continue to keep me avoiding the above scenario forever!
