3 weeks smoke free with one very minor slip up!

schedule 12 Feb 2015

Well I've started my 2nd course of Champix and have been smoke free for three weeks.

I did however have a very slight slip up last Friday night after a bit of a session on the run and coke. I hadn't drank since starting the quit program and after a few drinks (maybe a lot) , I grabbed a smoke off my mate and said I'd light up for him. I did and I almost threw up! I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth quick enough. The Champix really are doing their job.

Surprisingly things are tasting different too. I did notice that when I first started drinking alcohol again that it tasted like metho. Not that I've drank metho before, but you know what I mean. :)

The craving pangs still happen on the odd occasion and it is weird. I will be sitting working at the computer and a feeling of "I need a smoke" comes over me. It passes in an instant, but it still happens.

Anyhow, I'm feeling pretty good with myself so far, so I'm happy I started this journey.

Oh, one more thing. The Champix on occasions still makes me nauseous. My sister describes it like morning sickness. Thankfully it passes within 10 - 15 minutes.

Happy non smoking everyone. Keep positive, stay strong and be rid of those coffin nails for good.

Good to hear you are doing so well. It was your success story that I used as a model to follow and have now been smoke free for almost a week.

Keep up the excellent work!
