The first couple of days after quitting

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 14 Jan 2015

So it's day 2 since I've had my last cigarette and boy has it been an orional rollercoaster ride! I'm a person who is very prone to swinging from one emotion to another quickly and that really had been demonstrated te past couple of days. I've been intensely agitated, aggravated at the littlest of things, constant crying and then laughing historically over nothing! I believe it's my body's way of coping with the nicotine withdrawal., but all in all I'm so pleased with myself for even starting! I never believed I could ever even muster up the courage to fight cravings, let alone go 48 hours without one single cigarette! Things are looking up and I know these rollercoaster emotions are only temporary! I can do this!

I'm right there with you. This is my 2nd day of being a non-smoker myself. My emotions are starting to go haywire right now too. Didn't really bother me the fist 24 hours, but my emotion strings are starting to frey on day 2. I believe in us both..

I believe in you both too! I believe the emotions are the result of ending a relationship with the cigs, however, that relationship's only goal was to keep you chained up, sick and ultimately kill you! Keep going...it gets better. All the very best xx

Congratulations CleanBreather! Good Job on your quit. I felt how you are feeling during the beginning of my quit too. Embrace the changes, however crazy they may seem. It does get easier. This board has been great for me. I quit coldturkey 38 days ago, it's been tough at times, but I am enjoying my non-smoking self today. You got this!
