Slip-Ups

With starting Champix on 5th January & set my Quit date for 9th January. Having my last smoke prior to midnight on 8th January, I was doing great with my best Quit attempt ever. Joining a Gym on 9th January to aid in my success, was best decision ever made. To be confronted with a state of shock mid morning on 10th January, I had my first slip-up & had a smoke to control the shaking hands as I had to drive...with only having a few puffs in the afternoon, to maintain the stress. Waking 11th January feeling much better, only to be confronted with a major family crisis & the shaking began again...slipping up again smoking half a smoke to manage the severe distress, to later smoking the other half to maintain the stress. Despite my slip-ups & smoking approximately up to 3 full smokes max...is still my best Quit attempt ever, even under such distress & stress. Having my Gym orientation on 12th January... I haven't given up, I am even more determined than ever to Quit & to Stay Quit.
Commit to quit, havoc. No matter what happens. You have done really well. One step at a time. You can do this! xx

Hi havic, your doing really well just take one day at a time and each day you've reduced your cigarettes is an achievement. All the best

Hi havoc hang in there I am on week 4 of taking the champix and 16 days without having a cigarette.you can do this

Today having 3 full cigarettes, felt like I was falling off the horse again...with the 3rd cigarette, wondering why I even lit it...think the Champix is kicking in good now. Shocked me that today the 3 I had, was the total over the weekend...while under severe distress & stress, but am still relieved it's made me cut back dramatically regardless. I still see hope considering I was a least a 10 cigs a day smoker. I would like to thank all, for your support...it is greatly appreciated & congratulations to all.
