Hey guys ... So I'm on my third day of no ciggies ... I used to smoke 22 per day... First and second days were horrendous... I seem to be ok today but have this feeling of emptiness and almost feel like will I ever feel normal again? I kind of feel like how will I ever concentrate again without having my side kick with me? Would love to hear some advice cheers:)

Hi aghquitting, your doing really well and just stick with it it does get better. I'm now on day 38 and don't really think about smoking anymore . Just keep saying " it will get better, I can do this " and you will. It's a bit of a shock to the system to start with but you will soon adjust , every day smoke free is a huge achievement :-) All the best

Hi aughquitting, Try to look at quitting smoking as something you don't have to do any more as opposed to thinking of it as being deprived. There is absolutely NOTHING great about cigarettes. I'm on Day 11 now and although it hasn't been the easiest thing to do, I know it will be worth it and as FingersX says it really does get better. When it does get a bit overwhelming, I like to look at all the reasons why I quit in the first place and visit this forum for some support, advice and motivation. Congratulations on your quit and just take one day at a time. It's the best thing you could ever do for yourself (and others). Well done and take care. x

Hi Aghquitting, isn't it funny that non smokers (like you now), don't have any trouble with concentration. It is that evil Crapstick that is causing this, it is telling you that without me, you can't do anything. Well I am here to tell you that you can and it will get better every day. It is the cigarettes that are trying to control you and you are fighting back saying, "I won't let you". Well done ! You are in control, not the cigarette. You can do it !
