First Day

Today was the first day of quitting. I was ok in the morning, I usually have a cigarette as soon as I wake up, the habits I also need to get past. After myself & my 2 y/o daughter had breakfast we went for a long walk as a distraction. I did have major cravings as the day went on. At about 7pm I had 1 cigarette. My partners mother was here for dinner, i had one after our meal. I dont feel really guilty. Hopefully Tomorrow zero! There will be no smokers around so will be easier.
Hey Chanelle, congratulations on making the effort. You can do it. I am 6 days off, using the patch to help with those cravings, however my biggest hurdle is the brainwashing that the nicotine has done on my brain. So for those times, like first thing in the morning, coffee, after dinner, cocktails, I have changed the routine to make it more healthy. So in the morning I have a big glass of water before my coffee, I go for a walk after dinner (easy with the dog) but I will bring one of my kids with me. Double benefit cause i would never smoke in front of them and I get to spend time with them. You will find your course of action, we are all different except that we all want to be free from the CRAPSTICK (new term a fellow member told me about today). Good luck we are here for you. Pete

Put the cigarette down Chanelle....dont pick it back up. Keep your quit. You can do it! I did ;)

Hi Chanelle your doing well trying to quit. The first few days the cravings are intense but if you can stick with it and keep telling yourself it will get better is really does. I'm on day 41 now and after 30 + years of smoking to not think about it is wonderful. Just take one day at a time , you can do if. All the best
