Week 2

I quit cold turkey two weeks ago. The first few days were rough, mostly felt I didn't have any patience for people or myself, everything seemed to take longer. I napped alot these days. I have had a few grumpy moments where at first I didn't know what was wrong with me. Then I remembered I was wanting a cig, to get through that at work I walked outside and got away by myself for a bit, clear my head think about other things get a drink walk about. I made it! I have the occasional craving some are pretty fierce but I don't get near as grumpy about it. I don't want to go through those first days again, seems a blur now, I just napped when I could. I do feel like I am in a fog learning who I am again, but working through it. I never smoked in my home or outside it but I would go for a drive alot. I am happily saving gas money and my vehicle doesn't smell anymore. I no longer have a cough when I laugh, that was always the pits. It's been two weeks of my new smoke free self and it's working.
Good luck to you on your journey.

Congrats. JDKeys but do not be reluctant to accept any support available, whether it be drugs, patches or tabs. The most important thing is to kick this habit. Good luck and hang in there it is worth it.

We'll done remember you are not alone on this journey . This website is great. I rang the quit line last week because. I was having similar feelings and moods to you they helped put it into perspective and the lady I spoke to was so supportive and lovely as we'll . Keep up the great work !

Focus on health benefits. Like when I quit I realized my taste buds were coming back. I ate a ton of fruit. It's like I never knew what strawberries tasted like before. Focus on your new sense of smell-enjoy it. When mine came back it was incredible. You quit at the perfect time when everything blooms-let your mind get preoccupied with good things you are gaining from quitting. When the awful taste in your mouth goes away it will be incredible. I promise.
