Struggling
i'm day 15 of not smoking. I have been struggling the past 2 days. My husband has just come home from being away and im so tempted to have a smoke as he still smokes. Just by seeing his pkt of smokes on the bench make me want to grab them. I walk away thinking that i have promised my kids i will not smoke and that gets me thru the urges ( i hope it lasts). i am enjoying not smoking. My quiting is not to save money but for my health. My skin appears clearer, i have been sleeping so much better and generally feel good. It is a struggle day by day and i am looking forward to the day that the temptation is a little easier.

Having a partner who still smokes is really hard, my husband still does and after 28 days smoke free I still can't sit with him in the garden late afternoon for a chat - miss that one heaps. Sometimes I still get a heavy craving and hear that voice saying "just have 1", but that's how I got here in the first place, so I chew on a toothpick till it passes. My knitting and crochet projects have suddenly taken off again too (whatever works!).
Despite hating that my husband still smokes, it helps sometimes to see what a slave to nicotine we were - a good motivator to never have another puff.
How great is it to hug your kids and know that you don't stink of smoke? Great for them to see that you are looking after your health instead of paying tobacco companies to trash it.

Well done Nicole, keep going. Talk to your Husband and let him know how hard it is for you, ask him to keep his ciggies out of sight and when he smokes to smoke away from the area that you may be in. The promise to stop smoking must be yours and yours alone, I have made so many promises to my children over the past 30 years and broke everyone of them, when we stop the habit it should be for us and us alone, stay focused your doing an amazing Job
