Cold turkey

I am now in my 5th day of quitting after 24 yrs of smoking. i have actually found quitting mentally I am in control but physically is where I am struggling as the side effects at times can be strange and hard to deal with. The faint like symptoms are the ones I am struggling with as my whole concentration at times is trying to keep myself upright. I have no regrets about giving up smoking And I am hoping over the next week that my body starts to adapt more to the new oxygen levels.

It gets better n better ;) Hang in there! You can do it. I am smoke free 10 wks cold turkey. Feels Awesome!

Thanks for support jojie. My partner is very supportive and mindful of what is going on. Mentally I am good its the physical but even better i dont want to have a cigarette to stop all.the effects.

It works for me. I seldom have cravings I walked 3+ miles after work or daily basis. I don't miss smoking at all. You can do it!!!

Yesterday was a struggle for me i am over being an emotional wreck and now I am not sleeping well but I cant stand the smell.of cigarettes now so I know i will.get there.

A day at a time Deeno. I feel cold turkey is the best method to give these things the flick. Next time you feel tempted go for a run/walk/ do some sort of exercise to keep your mind occupied. Do this on a regular basis and I assure you it will help. Don't give up.......Plenty have been in your shoes.

I am on my 10th day of being smoke free. Last night was a struggle for me. Although I am taking champix and thought I would be fine to stop taking them but the cravings were very strong. The main thing is we don't give in to these nasty cravings. Well done everybody we are better then those awful stinking smoke sticks.

Like I said, it gets better in time ;) Good luck everybody we don't need to keep poisoning our selves. Our life n health are just too precious.

Thanks guys for the support. I cant stand the smell of it and havent been tempted i am changing things around in routine to get on top of physical cravings.

Hi Deeno74. I am 18 months clean and still get the odd craving but I am a fairly competitive person and treat it as a game that I want to win and it has helped. Good luck.

Hey guys I had my worst day ever yesterday i got very emotional at work with a customer and i wouldnt normally do that i cried.and i actually had a cigarette. I am going to get back on track and get myself back in gear. I really let myself down.
