Not so bad

OK, so I became a non-smoker yesterday. I feel relieved that I have started and realistic enough to know that it will be difficult at times - even with the Champix.
I had concerns about the side effects and so far have had none ..... Well actually a couple of intense dreams, but alls good.
I have not told my children that I have given up, as I don't want to disappointment yet again that I was not successful. I want to feel more confident about the situation, maybe tested in my triggers before I say anything. I do wonder though, how long will it take for them to realise that I am not going outside many times a night to have a ciiggie? Work can be stressful at times and there is a group of us who go out for a cig break during the day. I'll just have to deal with the stress in a different way.
My boyfriend, who smokes, will support me by not smoking near me, which is helpful.
So all in all, I'm feeling that things are all good and look forward to having the freedom from the addiction. It will be absolute bliss.

Good luck and congratulations. I'm on day 18 and still really excited about being a non smoker. Like you, I'm nervous that it won't last again, but it does feel so different this time. So nice to kiss my little one and not worry about filthy smokers breath. I have found that I'm less anxious in stressful situations. Remember that it's the ciggie that causes a lot of the stress.

I hope you are sticking to your no smoking resolve. I can add one thing, the stress is from the cigs and the lousy blood supply. 50 years of smoking, now off them cold turkey for a month and feeling great, no stress. Just back from a week away and was in and out of a smoke/gift shop half a dozen times getting little gifts for the grandchildren. First was hard the rest I almost laughed at myself, you can do it.
