Hi All,

This is my first time to post.

I have been smoke free for 13 days with the help of champix whcih I have been taking for the last 5 weeks. I smoked  a pack a day for 25 years, my reson for quiting were financial and health reasons.

The first few days on champix I had a severe headache for a week, but thankfully I didnt have the nausa people talked about, few weird dreams but overall I,m here now little or no side effects from champix and smoke free, my cravings first few days were "manageable" and I know that was all down to the champix. Now on week 2 they seemed to have become fewer each day, What helped me with the strong cravings was to chew gum or brush my teeth, I also found having a nicorette inhaler handy, (with no cartridge in it,)  helped with my hand habit.

I also feel there is alot of fear put out there for people who thinking of quitting, everyone is different therefore everyones withdrawl varies, but if you sit with the craving and work through it I found it only lasts a few minutes. I was terrified of that horrible feeling of withdrawl, and the thought of waking without a cigarette made my blood run cold but I can safely say it isnt as bad at all than what I imagined.

I do have moments where people are really annoying me, or I feel depressed and have been on the verge of tears sometimes, these are only feelings (although not very comfortable) will pass  . . . .

I am so glad I have Quit and hope I will never put a ciggarette near my mouth again, I have more money in my pocket, my house smells cleaner, Myself as a person smells cleaner, and my taste and smeel is returning, which is great :) My daughter is delighted and proud of me. I no longer worry in the evening debating in my head weather to go the shop or spare my cigarettes till morning.

I know I Still have a long way to go but so far it hasnt been as hard as I dreaded all these years, I am determained to keep going, I deprived myself for too long of holidays, things I like and would like for my home. constantly on a budget to be able to buy smokes, done without things most people would see as nesscessity, and for what ? to kill my myself !!! No thanks, Im done with the stinking rags !

I hope this post has helped and good luck to you all in your journey.

Kind Regards :)
