I've done it!! 366 days SMOKE FREE!!!

Hi All
I'm officially 366 days smoke free and what a wonderful - I'm bursting with pride feeling it is! What a year its been, from going through a break up after nearly 3yrs and find out he was cheating blah, blah, blah to weddings, funerals and parties!! I MADE IT!!! I'm not a ex-smoker - I just dont smoke I AM A NON SMOKER!!! Thank you Champix - with all the side effects I will do it all over again - it is worth every bit of discomfort, emotions etc that I suffered in the 3 months using it. If any of you feel like quitting to quit DON"T!! It does get easier and easier as time goes by - everything that you are going through on your journey will be worth the prize at the end of your suffering... I know its blood, sweat and tears but what you gain is totally priceless!! I cant tell you how happy I am that I dont smoke anymore.HANG IN THERE!! The journey is rough but the outcome is pure bliss!

Well done you!!
Those comments are great to hear as I too am using Champix to quit ( 15 days quit so far )
You should be so proud of yourself for getting to a full year as a non smoker, it's great to hear that it can be done!
Thanks for sharing this success story :)

I'm still that one day behind you Mix! 366 days today. Congratulations, and a pat on the back for both of us hey.

Well done!!! I'm only finishing my 2nd month now, not smoking thinking of not doing the third month because of side effects? Please help what should I do? Thanks!

Wow, that's quite inspiring, thanks Mix! You obviously managed to do it despite lots of challenges along the way. It makes me think that maybe I can too. I'm day 49 smoke free and on champix. I have two weeks of my three months left, but I am going back to get a script for another three months, just in case. I don't want to fail!

Ian A - pleasure is all mine, WELL DONE!! hang in there and just keep going, before you realize a year is gone.
Dottily - CONGRATS to you too! We will celebrate another year.
Cazza - WELL DONE!! Do what you need to do to kick the habit, it is really worth it in the end not to smoke at all. When you get to the last 2 weeks of your 6 months start weaning yourself off Champix, it helps and is less of a shock to the system.

Hi Li,
My advice - get another month and start taking 1 tab a day for a week, then 1/2 a tablet for a week or 2 to wean yourself of Champix, that way you will be able to monitor if your are ready to stop with Champix and not smoke. Its also less stress and a shock on your body if you gradually go off Champix. Your side effects should be less or more manageable on a lower dose. If you suffer from nausea try and have your tab after you have eaten and loads of water with it, dry biscuits also helped me. The main thing is to not start smoking again.
Hang in There, you've come a long way, do what you need to do but don't smoke again!
Good LUCK!

Hi All
Just to say THANK YOU and I hope to see your posts of your progress and that I would have the honor of congratulating you on your monthly progress - take it month by month. A year seem really far if you're in the beginning of your journey. If you end up in a tough situation - breathe through it or go for a brisk walk ANYTHING to divert your attention from the situation. I started gym shortly after my break up and that helped to keep the weight down and gave me something positive to focus on. lol - I know exercising is not for everyone BUT even taking a walk would help, remember you're replacing a bad habit with a healthy ones and learning how to handle stress in new ways instead of reaching for a cancer stick!
Good Luck and hang in there - you have comes this far don't give up or in!!

Mix huge congratulations to you, what an accomplishment!, and congrats to all of you, you are all doing so well! Cozza, you and I are both at day 50 , so glad to hear you are still going strong! I love hearing from those ahead of me on the journey, it keeps me strong! And I hope I can do the same for those just starting out. Way to go everyone!
