Question for those using champix

I am just completing day 13 of being smoke free (using champix) and very excited about it of course but it's weird, I have smoked for over 35 years and I don't even have cravings!  Another strange side effect of the champix seems to be my complete distaste for alcohol, haven't had a sip since I quit.  I don't know if this is because I always enjoyed the two together but bottom line the thought of a drink is completely unapealing.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Does it go away when u stop the champix?  I guess it's not a terrible thing that I can't drink - I'm going to be so darn healthy I won't recognize myself!! :)

Great work! I have heard the same about champix in regards to helps quit alcohol as well. Talk to your Doctor about this.

I'm on 33 days off nicotine and this time around I did it cold turkey. 33 days is my best effort since 1996! I've smoked since 1985 with very little abstinence!

Hi Kam

I'm on day 18ish of the champix and I really enjoyed a cold beer the other day after doing some work around the house. And gladly, didn't even consider a cigarette at the time.

Hi KAM,

Well done and keep going.

As you know I am off the Champix and although I have the occasional craving, it does not last as I feel disgusted at the thought of inhaling all of those chemicals.

I had tried to quit so many times in the past and always failed but perhaps the Champix and the right state of mind is the right combination.
