Burning $75 - $100 a day

My smoking increased after my father died to 3 - 4 packs a day. This went on for about 8 weeks before I had so much pain in my lungs and a nose bleed I decided to go to the doctor, I had extreme blood pressure and had smoked so much I had smoke inhalation. I then cut down, and have just quit cold turkey. Smoking had made me feel the worst I had ever felt, especially when you combine that with heavy drinking. Just today I have started to feel much better and saved at least $25 !

Ohh sorry - That post is after 1 and a half days not smoking. I mostly slept - and drank water - constantly. Have avoided Coffee and junk/fast foods. It's a whole new way of seeing life. I am concerned I might die from the effects of my smoking: More scary still is that I may suffer amputations or severe stroke (with the blood pressure) I feel less constricted in the chest, and am excited to have saved $50 so far (more if i was up to 3-4 packs a day) I see it as a choice, and every moment can be a new beginning.

You said you cut down first, by how much over what period of time, I am planning to quit this way also for health reasons, but am not ready to go cold turkey
