Third time LUCKY

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 18 May 2014

Well my life was turned upside down about the time I had decided to quit.

I was made redundant about a month before quitting, the unit I own tenant moved out

I moved to a new town about 1300 klms away (which cost and arm and a leg to do), without a job and no friends !

However, through all that - I have not smoked since ANZAC DAY - 25TH APRIL 2014 and still not smoking.  To me it is one day at a time and keep busy.

BUT ....

I must own shares in the WRIGLEY'S EXTRA GUM as I chew them by the bucket full.

Don't get me wrong, there is not a single minute that goes by that I don't want a smoke.  It is even lovely to smell it on other people.

However this is my third time giving up - third time LUCKY on CHAMPIX.  I have been smoking for 40 years and it is now 3weeks WITHOUT a smoke.

My hint - chew gum and have them everywhere

As each day passes smoke free you become stronger and it does get easier. Stay strong.

Did the Champix thing myself and now four months smoke free after 35 years a smoker. Keep going you can do it. I also love the smell of it still and watching others smoke makes me want one but 4 months says something :-) Cheers Brutig
