Hi all, my husband and I have been smokers for at least 40 years. Between us we were smoking 100 cigarettes a day. At the current prices this was costing us over $400.00 per week. 8 weeks ago we decided to go see our GP about quitting, and he gave us the script for champix. This sat on the kitchen table for 2 weeks before we decided to go and have it filled. We took the tablets for the first 2 weeks and cut down remarkably, but we were both feeling quite nauseous after taking them. We bought our last packet of smokes over 3 weeks ago, have stopped taking the champix and are now doing it cold turkey. We are feeling a lot better, both in health and in the pocket and we are down to smoking less than 1 a day each. We hope that by the end of this week we will not be having any at all as they taste foul. We will be going to see our GP tomorrow as we both still feel a bit queasy in the stomach and hope he can give us something to help with that. Anyway we are both wrapped in oursselves for getting this far, and the fact that we are doing it together has helped immensely. We worked it out that over a 12 month period we will have saved $21,000.00 that we have just been putting up in smoke. Incredible.

I stopped on Champix, I smoked a pack a day +-30yrs, I had bad side effect. I used to eat something before taking my tabs, I don't know if nibbling dry biscuits, ginger sweets or something sour might ease your nausea, it worth a try though.

Im in 303 days smoke free and it feels amazing!! A whole new world of taste and smell has opened up and of course the money saving factor.

Hang in there and good luck!!
