I slipped

Posted in Quit experiences
schedule 14 May 2014

Reached day 3 and was feeling absolutely terrible. It felt like the urge to smoke would just never go away, and ended up smoking one cigarette at around 6pm. The guilt that's followed motivates me to go further than i have and try to go even longer without a cigarette (4 days is my new goal) and if possible, to surpass this allocated period and hopefully reach a point where cravings decrease with time, rather than increase. A slip up and the sensations that follow can really show you how much you want to quit.

Hang in there and just get back on track, that is still 3 days without nicotine in your system so it's still a good thing. Well done for that and for getting back on track with your new goal :)

You shouldn't feel guilty for slipping 1 smoke. In 3 days you slipped once which I bet is far less than what you'd usually have smoked. The early days are hard as your body starts to detox.
