Almost 1 month smoke free

Hi, i am glad to say that it's my day 26 without a single puff and i wouldn't think that its possible.
For everyone fearing to quit because life will not be the same and you will not enjoy travelling, going out with friends, concentration on something, the morning holy cup of coffee, I would like to tell you dont fear any thing, all these will not feel the same for sure because it will feel better believe me.. no bad smell no night coughs, less fear of cancer and other illnesses, you will suffer a little bit for one week max and then things will get better and trust me there is one feeling that is priceless and worth all the hardtime .. its the feeling to be free..
I am using Champix since April 8 and it made the journey much easier as it reduced the cravings significantly. I stopped smoking on May first and cravings continued till may 21 but now i barely have 1 craving a day that i easily surpass. regarding the side effects of the medicine i had nothing but some vivid dreams, but i've noticed a story mentioning that Champix increases the chances of having a heart attack or a stroke? can that be true?
if anyone have any information about the relation between Champix and increasing heart attack chances kindly share with me.
Best of luck to you all

good luck on your journey and what you said in first paragraph is so true.. the feeling of freedom :-)

Hi, and good luck on your journey! I stopped smoking on the 5th of May without using anything. I am very proud of myself and all the Glory and Honor to our Heavenly Farther. Every time that I had a craving, I told myself that I could do anything through Him that gives me the power and the strength! I have given up before for 2 years, but this time it is different and much easier as I am now a reborn Christian! You see I can never turn back now and smoke again which is also a great benefit! Thank You Jesus for healing me of smoking!!!
Hi Hani, thanks for sharing your story. I'm on champix also and this is my 15th day and my quit day. I must admit I haven't really enjoyed smoking for the past couple of days, but the strong call of the smokes is a strong call indeed and hard to ignore. So far today I'm dizzy, have a strong headache and have been fighting a flu, or flu like symptoms ever since I started on champix. The dreams have been fantastic, if that was the only side effect then I would be on champix for life!!! Much more interesting than the idiot box these days.
It's inspiring to read stories like yours, good luck. Hopefully I'll be standing in your shoes shortly.

Congrats on your accomplishment to date - that's fantastic! My Dr. Said champix is very safe, of course if you read the warnings on any drug your find that there's always that one person in a billion who will get some horrible side effect! I think the chances of heart attack or stroke are probably even stronger for a smoker! All that being said, I am not a Dr. So if you are concerned you should ask your medical professional. :)
