schedule 24 Apr 2014

Tomorrow is my first day of Champix for the fifth time I know champix will work for me as it has previously I smoked 70 a day now i am down to 40 It is time to try again I know oneday I will suceed. It has harmed my life from chronic broncitis to bypass surgery (almost dying) after major heart attack. I can hardly walk because I can not breathe. After 40yrs of smoking it is time for them to go FOREVER ..stay strong people we will suceed in the end. GOOD LUCK in your journey

You will succeed. Not just an aussie dreamer but an aussie battler. Start your new life. Medical miracles happen. I wonder if you will walk again. I have just been studying the visualisation page on this website. If you imagine yourself standing and then walking all the muscles will receive more blood and remain active. You have so much to look forward to. Start with breathing exercises to help you quit. I just know you can do this.

Aussie dreamer you've got the right name if you think champix or anything will do it for you.

You have to do it, the other stuff will help but YOU are the one who has got to do a few hard yards and use some self restraint and will power.

Advice from a bloke who smoked for 53 years and will be 2 years clean in 6 weeks time.

Hi aussie_dreamer, I hope that this is going to be a success story for you and that you quit for good this time. I do have to concede though that Bill44 makes a valid point, champix cannot make you quit smoking that decision must come from your heart and mind and you have to be 100% committed, so I hope you are in the right mindframe and wish you success on your journey, your health sounds like it's riding on it.

And to Bill44, well done, I love the good news stories, they give everyone who is starting on this journey hope :)

Aussie Dreamer i can't imagine having smoked 70 cigarettes a day. You must have smoked all day. 40 is better, but zero is best. It seems like you have a decision to make. To live or die! I hope you chose live! Good Luck.

You can do it, with the help of champix and a positive outlook in to where you want to go and be in your life. I smoked for 40 years as well and thought enough is enough. This is my first attempt and havent smoked for 2 weeks and feel great. If I can do it you can, just got to believe in yourself. Good Luck

I agree with Bill44, you really must want to do this for yourself. Champix will help but your mindset it what is going to nail it. I do not know what smoking 70 cigs a day would be like, even 40 for that matter, but GOOD LUCK.
