Hardest battle for me

I never smoked as a child or young adult. I would have a few cigarettes here and there when out with friends. As the years passed and I had some difficult life moments, I started to smoke. I smoked for about eight years. I have a addictive personality so I got hooked pretty quickly. I got to the point where I was smoking 10 cigarettes a day and a pack on each day on the weekend. I felt so aweful, but I loved the cigarette. I was a closet smoker, like no one could smell it. I exercise regularly and it wasn't affecting my exercise so I though it was ok. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. That was not who I wanted to be. I went to the dr for a sinus infection and told him that I was smoking and really needed to stop. He prescribed Chantix for 3 months. It worked for me, but the only thing I really hate is that I have so much gas! I used to be regular and now every day is a struggle. I just ordered some probiotics so I hope they help. That is the only downfall I have. I may get another pack of chantix, because I stopped it and the cravings started coming back and with the gas and cravings it has been really hard to stay off the cigarettes although I have so far. 3 and 1/2 months. I think the thing that really stopped me from smoking was realizing all the chemicals I was putting into my body everyday! I plan on never smoking again. Good Luck to all.

3 and a half months is an outstanding effort and don't even think of going back to old habits. It's all about encouragement and supporting each other. You know the triggers and you know it's SO SO bad for you. I still have cravings now and then but I'll be f.......d if I'll go back there again. Good luck and stay strong.
