Champix

Hello,
Just wanted to share my experience with Champix. I've read a lot of stories on this site and others about the strong side effects many users of Champix experience, I just hope it doesn't steer anyone away from trying it if they otherwise haven't been able to quit.
I started using Pix 3 weeks ago (smoker for 27 years), I did suffer from fatigue at first and hunger (the hunger may have been a byproduct of the fatigue), however after the first week the fatigue disappeared and I started feeling normal again. I did not have any stomach pain or nausea, no strange dreams or depression. What did happen however is a dislike for smoking, I found that after the first week when I had a cigarette I would only smoke half of it and have a bad taste in my mouth after. I set my quit date for the end of the second week on the drug and ended up quiting half way through the second week. I've been smoke free a week and a half and don't get any stronge urges.
Obviously not everyone has the same reaction to any drug, but if you've tried evreything else and need a little crutch, this could be it. Cheers.

I just started Champix today. I've tried everything else and nothing worked. Hearing about the side effects put me off but I thought I'd give it a try. So here's hoping it works for me!!

I started on Champix on Wednesday, already have a bad taste in my mouth after a cigarette. I usually go all day at work without a cigarette but 5 minutes before I am due to go home I am ready to race out the door for a smoke! I have set my quit date for 2 weeks but I think the way things are going it might be earlier. I am going to Thailand with a friend in just over 2 weeks and she is now a non smoker thanks to Champix and has been for over 2 years. I am hoping the change of scenery and both of us not smoking will be a great help! Hoping this works!

I highly recommend Champix if you have tried before and failed. I have been smoke free for 840days and have never looked back. Yes in the beginning I felt a little sick in the mornings but a half a banana with the tablet sorted that out. I was one of those people who thought they'd never give up, I started when I was 16 and gave up 840 days ago I'm now 57 and I'm so glad I made the decision when I did, it doesn't matter how you give up, but that you give up....hang in there, its a wonderful achievement and you all should be really proud of yourselves....keep up the good work
