I am having a lot of trouble quitting, I have found that theonly method that can keep me away from them long enough is NRT. But not all types, only the patches seem to have this effect I have tried the; gum, mouth spray, electronic cigerette and mints. But none of them helped in anyway until I found the patches. My problem now is that patches cost twice as much per week as it does for me to smoke. I'm only 23 andI cant survive this hit to my financial income. It has become more financially viable for me to continue smoking, even though in the long run I could save money by quitting I wouldnt be able to make it that far spending that much money on a weekly basis over six weeks. does anyone have any suggestions? because I have lost hope.

Never give up hope Trex. We've all tried and failed. The trick is to NEVER give up on giving up. If I read correctly you're 23 years of age ? There are some on this forum that have smoked for decades and succeeded in giving up. I suggest you read some of their stories and try and derive some inspiration from there. Good luck.

Hi Trex, I stopped smoking after smoking for 30+ years, I am clean 267 days and counting. I stopped on Champix. If I knew years ago how awesum it is not to smoke I would've stopped sooner. I can breathe, do cardio at gym, smell and taste senses are back, I can carry on in regards to all the plus points. Just ride the wave as it hits you. Take up some form of exercise. KEEP BUSY and drink loads of water. You will not regret going through what you go through when you quit. You will be very happy you did later on in your life.
Good Luck and HANG IN THERE!! Its totally worth it.

Hi Trex, apparently you can go to a Doctor and get a script for the patches, and they are a lot cheaper that way, especially if you have a health care card. Good luck with it!

Hi Trex, I had similar problem and wrote a piece on this site on 31/7/2013. You can do patches for half the price. Enter "PATCHES HELPED ME" in the search box and it will explain how.
