day 6 on Champix

Even though i have not yet completley quit i can feel the effects of champix. It's day 6 and the taste of the cigarette is almost unbearable which is why i have been doubting myself, why then woould i keep smoking when it tastes this foul?
This leads me to realise that there needs to be some effort on my part to actually be aware and act upon cutting down instead of thinking that the tablet will do it all for me.
So today i have only had 4 smokes which is a reduction to my usual and i have achieved a lot more housework this morning before work, it's amazing how much time is wasted smoking.I feel excited thinking about how much time i will have to do other things instead of smoking and thinking and wishing my life away.
Hi angelarms. I too was on the Champix. Set my quit date for Day 11 and smoked 10 to 12 cigs a day until Day 8. Day nine smoked 3 half cigarettes which tasted filthy. I haven't smoked since and that was 103 days ago today. Yes you are right you just can't rely on the tablets alone to give up. It still requires willpower especially once you stop altogether. The thing is it gets easier and easier with time. Well your doing better than I was doing at the same stage of the Champix! Don't stress about it too much as your heading in the right direction. Congratulations on starting your journey.

Your doing great, stop when you feel it's the time. I didn't use Champix but patches 137 day's now so all the best it get's better

wow Anglearms, your comment of "smoking and thinking and wishing my life away" is me to a tee. That was freaky to read.
I am off to the Doc tomoz or Next day to get some Champrix. I believe more prep the better for me. Its been 35 years and I know wheeze and have a whistle while breathing and can't walk very far at all (letterbox) without bending over to breathe. I can't laugh because it makes me cough and the pain is unbearable.
I did stop for 2 years 15 years ago but drank a lot instead. I'm a non drinker now and this is my only vice...it's just this one is killing me.
So if you guys are saying Champrix can help, well I'm on board.
