Day 6 of quitting

I've quit once again now for 6 days. I've been on patches for 4 days and decided that I will be ok without it. And it is mostly just the same with no patch. I have had each day at around 4pm something like an anxiety attack, reminding me of hot flushing and a bit panicky as the heart will race and can't think clearly. That's the time I start to think I'm not going to get through it. What I have done each day when this happens is get up and go outside for a walk and breathe to slow things down. I've found it will last for about 15 minutes., then pass other than this mostly has gone along smoothly as I'm determined to never smoke again. I'm 58 years old and took up smoking at 15 so a long time.

Like reading everyone's experiences thanks for sharing, it makes me feel as if I'm not alone in this

I know how you are feeling. I find that when I am having anxiety, I take long deep breaths, and close my eyes for a few minutes. Keep going forward, and take it one day at a time. I was where you are now, I am on day 60 now. It's been a rocky road, but my only advice is not to give up, the temptations do come and they come hard at times, but you are stronger than the smoke. I refuse to let the cigarette have control over me any more!! Good luck!
