I have kept a diary of my own personal struggle to quit smoking spanning a period of 9 years. Don't be put off because it spans 9 years. It takes about ten minutes to read.

I eventually quit after trying for most of my life. I tried everything from Hypnotherapy to Champix.

You can read the diary here: http://www.quitting-smoking-my-diary.com

HI Zoe, read your diary and loved it, it has given me so much hope, so many similar feelings. Thanks for sharing.

So pleased to hear that my diary has given you some hope.

The key point is, don't give up trying to quit smoking just because you have some failures. As you would have read in my diary I kept on trying even though I failed on dozens of occasions.

I believe I owe my success to eventually quitting to two things.

1. Champix

2. Alan Carr's Book. 'Easy Way to Stop Smoking'

Neither was a perfect solution. Champix made me feel nauseous after a number of weeks and Alan Carr's book 'Easy Way to Stop Smoking' wasn't really that easy although it was very inspirational. I read it twice.

Good luck Vanessa. You will get there!
