2 years

I had smoked for over 50 years, smoking 30 per day.
It was costing me $6000 per year.
2 years ago today I quit. From memory the first 80 days were the hardest but after 100 days the temptations all but disappeared.
I wonder why it took me 50 years to wake up, but I am happy that I made the decision to quit. When I started I really wanted to quit but didn't know whether I had the willpower to go through with it.
Now I can finally say I made it and will not make the mistake of thinking "oh, one won't hurt".
This site has been my support knowing that others were facing the same battle. Some win and a few don't make it, but hopefully will never give up trying.

Hey Gerry1, whole-hearted congratulations on two years smoke free, just brilliant, and thank you for your support. And john_syd_west it's great to hear from you! Often wondered how you were travelling. You two have made my day!

Well done , massive achievement, thank you for the post that gives me real incentive to keep going.
