WHY
Went to my sons basketball game this afternoon and one mum asked if I wanted to go out for a cancer stick. I say "No, I don't smoke anymore" her response was "why?" And I just looked at her, it felt like an eternity but it was just for a split second and I said, "why, WHY! Because I don't want I die from something that couldn't have been prevented, because I'm sick I being selfish and choosing nicotine over my life, my family, my son, because m sick of stinking, because I want white teeth, I'm sick of feeling sick all the time, because I wasting money on smokes we don't have!! And she looked at me for what seemed like an eternity, but it was just a split second and laughed and said "we could get it by a bus tomorrow" and I said "at least when I get hit, I'm smiling and loving life"

Well done, stick to your guns and don't let anyone change your mind.
I find it hard to believe someone can be so negative and not tell you well done. I expect this mum doesn't want to give up and because she can't do it she doesn't think anyone else should.
Giving up smoking has to be something we want to do and then we have to find the best way to do it that suits us.

Well done choosing life, you are strong and consistently showing determination that takes courage and strength of character. That old attitude of 'you could get hit by a bus tomorrow' is a justification, excuse, or even childish attempt to be 'wild' or cool, that is outgrown and overused. It's a weak argument up against yours might I add VALID, LOGICAL, MATURE, CONSIDERATE, HONEST, POSITIVE, ARTICULATE reasons. You are doing so great it's so great to hear your experience so many of us keep to ourselves but I had the same, it can be frustrating but it's new. I did not think those experiences would be part of the quit journey. Stay focused on you, and do not take on anyone else's judgement that's about them, you focus on how well you are doing and your assertiveness. All the positives choices for your health because only us are responsible at the end of the day. Thank you .

Hellooooo, how stupid did that Mum sound??? Good for you, letting her have "it"!! It's difficult enough without negative judgement. I'm all for letting a little of the pent up anger and frustration,(from giving up), out on silly people such as this! Save the ones you love from copping it.Stay strong and smile, you're a winner!!!

Some smokers simply feel jealous when you show the determination and will power to quit. Ignore them and keep focused on the reasons why you quit and the support of your loved ones.
best of luck
