553 days free of nicotine.  Good boy, Bruce!

I have 2 emotions: 1. grief at the loss of the dopamine rush with every puff and 2. patting myself on the back for achieving 18 months after smoking for 52 years.  One day a a time  no nicotine today. Good luck, folks. it is worth it.

Good one Bruce, I'm 521 days after smoking for 53 years. Hope this combined result helps other long time smokers give up.

Thanks, Bill44 for your post and encouragement. I saw in the American Journal of medicine that only 3% of quitters are still abstinent after 6 months; nicotine is a nasty, nasty drug. We are all better off it. We must persevere! One of my clients was a 2 pack a day man, he gave up 14 years ago and he says the same thing I say after 18 months abstinent: I'll never go back to nicotine AND I'd love to! One day at a time!
