I will be more supportive

I'm a horrible person and I need to learn to be more supportive. My husband is also on this journey with me, but his had a few smokes here and there over the past 3 weeks. When I mean a few, not many. Maybe his had two or three the first week, one or two the second week and third week and I feel like he is trying but I still get cranky with him well not really cranky I just say really stupid comments that I shouldn't say and regret. So I have been working really hard on this and how I deal with it. Today he lost his patch after we did lots of work in the yard and his only just realised so his gone all day without a patch and his doing so good. The first thing I did was praise. Told him how amazing he is and how strong he is and that i couldnt go without my patch just yet. Because I know we are all different and if we are 100% committed to quitting and staying quit we find the way that works for us. We all get to the end, just on different paths. So my goal this week is to be more supportive and accept that his way works for him..

Yes we all take a different approach on this journey so yes we have to support everyone as long as they are trying that's the main thing. All the best

Hi Choosing Life, we are on such a similar journey. My husband too was to join me on this journey however he has decided not to use patches and has not succeeded. Although he doesn't smoke around me I found out that he is still having a couple of smokes a day. I too have been giving him a hard time and telling him that I am better and I am winning. I should like you be more supportive. Thanks, and well done!!!
