Don't listen to anyone. Only when you are truly ready will quitting be easy. Extremely easy because every time you are tempted to buy a packet your inner voice says "I don't want to do this any more"

So true. When I started I was ready but not real confident. As time passed my confidence grew, especially by the time I had reached 100 days. Today I see I am 653 days smoke free.
But as you say - the day which was day one for me, I was ready.
