well luckily I got through the toughest last week, was harder than the first few weeks, well harder to deal with anyway.

I substitued food for ciggies for a whole week, and am at the 'my skin can't stretch anymore' stage! luckiy yesterday/today is a little easier, and seeing I am lighter at 54 than I was at 21 a few kgs won't hurt me - although a little more gradual to allow for skin expansion would be good!!

thanks everyone for the support so far, it really does make a difference. I might celebrate my month tomorrow with a nice long walk with dogs, followed by coffee and choccie. Hope everyone has a nice weekend

Well done Larch one month is a great effort.Sounds good walking the dog thats what i do every weekend then go for coffee and something sweet. I figure a few extra kilos wont kill me as long as im keeping up my walking regularly.Keep up the good work it gets easier as you go along.

Hi Larch, well done on a month smoke free. Weeks 3,4,5, were difficult also for myself.

The weight thing is so annoying. I consciously tried to control it but I caved, I gained two stone, and it came on fast too, it is not a nice feeling at all.I usually run but I had a calf injury and was out for a while so it was so frustrating. It is another thing to battle. Anyhow just be mindful of it if you do not want to gain more. I found the the weeks mentioned above including 6,7,8,9,10 were the weeks that I ballooned. However it is balanced off now, it is not off yet it is tough to budge. The most important thing is that you are still smoke free, and don't forget to celebrate the month milestone, well done and keep posting here.

Hi Larch, a month is fantastic! I found it got a lot easier from about the month mark, I wasn't constantly thinking about smoking, even in that positive, I'm beating it, kind of way. Just be prepared for a few unexpected sudden cravings but they do seem to get less and less. And any weight gain is reversible, at least I keep telling myself so! Well done, and thank you so much for your encouragement during my "down time".

Well done and congrats - Each day is an achievement.

I have always battled with weight and i stacked it on when I gave up - im at the point now that im under weight management specialists so do try and be careful.

It feels good knowing knowing that you get thru each day without one doesn't it?

Again to you all congrats and keep going...
