Day 13 (:D) How I've felt so far

It has been 13 days since I have had a cigarette, which is the longest I've gone without one in 2 years. I have made several attempts to stop in the past but usually got drunk one night and started again. I wanted to share my story with anyone who is planning to quit. I don't think someone who wants to quit is truly prepared for what is ahead. Personally, I felt irritable, irrational and unproductive for the first 8 days. I literally could not do anything without feeling angry and the thought of smoking was continously on my mind. And the worst part was I thought I would never get over that feeling. However, this is day 13 and for the first time I feel the best I have felt in 2 years. I would recommend for anyone planning to quit to understand it really is difficult, but just power through that initial tough stage and YOU WILL feel better and get closer to being quit for good.
Just a hint: Before two big nights where me and my friends all go out drinking, I told them "no matter how drunk, nagging and aggresive I get, you can't let me smoke". That was the best thing I could have done because I would still be smoking if it wasn't for my friends stopping those drunk sneaky ones.
The reason I posted this today is because I genuinly feel I am able to never smoke again for the first time since I started. I wish you all the best luck with your journey!

Sham that's fantastic, nearly two weeks! The irritability is a huge thing in the first couple of weeks hey? I had to walk out of a shop and leave my groceries behind one day, I think otherwise I'd have been jailed for "shopper rage"! Well done on priming your friends, got to stay one step ahead of any potential craving.

Hi Sham,
Good going on two weeks, sounds like you toughed it out well done. It is so worth it. Alot of people do not understand just how hard it actually can be. Great work on two weeks wish you many more.
