7 Days and still not easy

Ok i have gone 7 days now without a smoke. I was smoking 25 a day roughly for about 20 years so its not easy, I havent given in though and still fighting hard to get through everyday. 1 day at a time

Well done Barney you should be proud of yourself for such a fantastic achievement.

It does get easier and you will start to fell a little bit better each day.

You have done the hard part even though it might not seem like it so hang in there.

Just keep posting and reading the stories on this site it does help in the weaker moments and the people on here are always willing to offer helpful advice if they can

Checks is right - it does get easier. I used the patches originally and gave up on them after stage 2. I'm now 71 days and I'm so happy i quit. Some days were hard and the social side of it was trying at times but I just reminded myself why I was doing it and told myself that I was much stronger than any nicotine craving. Coming here has been a big help - don't even have to post but reading other people's stories does spur you on. You're a week down - well done! Watch out for week 3 - it's a bugger - but after that you'll find your feet and you'll be good!

some people say week 3 is the hardest, i never found it any harder i am 50 days smoke-free and it gets easier everyday, well you are doing great all the best and good luck.

Well done Barney on a week, excellent stuff,it does get easier of course. You have crossed the hardest bridge and that is quitting and completing a milestone of a week.
