Depressed.....

Hi everyone, im really bummed and embarressed. Ive had a cigarette.... After 69 days smoke free i did it, i had "just one" which has now turned into 5 over the past 3 days. Feel like a total looser. I was doing so well. The thought of wanting one never really left me, but it passed pretty quickly before. I am going back to my doc on friday for another script for the champix. Feel like ive not only let myself down but so emabarressed to be posting this, its only that no-one knows me, my secret is just that in my "real" life, a secret, havnt told anyone, so embarressed.

You're no loser RJ. Minor set back at worst. 69 days smoke free is a fantastic achievement. Just start again with the knowledge your target is well within your grasp. :-)

Don't be so hard on yourself. You championed through 69 days without a smoke, overcame all those desires for 69 days! So you slipped up, that's ok. You've shared it, we are here for you and will support you through this. There is no need to feel embarrassed, each effort you make to quit is one step closer to a healthier you. Till you get to see your doc, get some patches or something to help you thru the next few days. Feelings/cravings pass more quickly the longer we are off the things we are all trying to avoid. Stay strong. Keep posting.

you have to remember we are all addicts and there is no such thing as one, well it has happened and now you are starting again. what do non-smokers do when they are stressed out? that nicotine monster is real tricky, well all the best and stay strong.

hey there is no need to feel bad.just pick another day and try again.i use quit x patches and they have worked for me.dont give up on giving up.good luck.
Hi RJ, the same thing happened to me in between my 60 something days. It must be a trigger or something but I was thankful I only had the one. I cam on here too stating what a loser I was but the encouragement from all the other people pulled me through as I hope they have done for you too.
Keep on being a non-smoker and forget about that one little set back.

Hey RJ, YOUR definately not a loser. We are all nicotine addicts as stoprightnow says above. The majority of us were smoking for alot of years, we are now learning to be non smokers,If you happen to fall along the way.Dont beat yourself up about it,Just get back up and get back on board this crazy ship... Honestly just put in behind you, learn from it and move on..Good luck xx

You're only a loser if you allow yourself to be one - which you're not doing.
You're going at it again.
Most of us have stuffed up on quit attempts except we just carried on smoking instead of starting again immediately.
None of us think it's easy, we all know tough it is and no-one's going to give you a hard time.
Stick with it - you'll get there!
The sad bit is that 1 led to 5 and leads to 20 and leads to a packet a day and the cycle continues. The good bit is, you can stop that cycle right now. Stop it at the 5.
I am day 50 and all i think now is about smoking - and i now miss it so bad and i keep having to tell myself that it would do nothing for me.
Jump back on the quitter wagon RJ
