Chest pains

Hello everyone, anyone experiencing tightness in the chest..... kind of like a when you are sick. Has anyone experienced this . I am on day 13 smoke free. Is it just the lungs repairing.

Bullcrap, you are just trying to scare her. Lungs can and do repair it is never to late to quit in direct response to supporting lung function. It never hurts to see your doctor but don't let fear and anxiety over your health hold you back from living your best life.xxx

Hi Converse. I had the most horrific tight chest and severe cough about a month after stopping smoking. I never suffered with "chesty" issues at all while I smoked. I did some reading and found that its quite normal to cough etc - your body is clearing out all the crap from smoking. I could not believe how terrible I felt and sounded, someone who didnt know me very well told me "with that cough you should seriously stop smoking!" hahaha.. Anyway, what im saying is a cough can be a normal part of the process. Obviously get your doc to check you out to be sure.... Im almost on day 60 (have decided to not take the last month of Champix) - so will see how I go. Tanya xx

Hi guy's, I seem to be okay, on the chest front.(I think).I will be heading to the doctor's in the next few days for my second month of Champix, so I will ask for a lung function test and see how I am. Thanks to all for the comments, Dr Feel Good, thanks for you comment and well done on how far you have come on quitting, prettygirl, thanks also for you comment... Fear and anxiety, you are right it should not get in the way from living the best life, I guess I have let both prevent me from being more social in life, Maybe I am a tad over emotional, but I can see how I used smokes to help in social situations. Gives me the 'support'. I am learning that the longer I am off them. Which only makes me want to keep fighting this , I want to support myself , I want to be happy, and as healthy as I can possibly be, I believe my confidence will grow, the further I go along this quit journey. Eric I am sorry to hear about your low dose of emphysema, a work acquaintance was diagnosed two months ago with it, she is still smoking which is her choice , she will give up when she is ready I suppose. I secretly hope I have a positive influence on her. Well done on 2 years smoke free, that's amazing after 44 year, hope you have a continue to have a better quality of life.TanyaBee, thanks for your comment, I think you could be right the lungs clearing out, well done on 60 days smoke free, keep posted on how you are doing without the last month. Winnebago, I had the dry chesty (Smokey) cough too, and sore throat, but gone now, good luck with keeping smoke free and well done so far, I like reading your posts.
