Am 56days in am getting a very foggy brain and it is a bit scarry nearly weakened so put a patch on instead. I dont know what is going on but it is harder then before. Is it my body going in for one last ditch effort to have a smoke?

Havent weakened once and have made it through till now, I am feeling very suseptable atm. Am keeping busy etc. Need some reassurance that I am not going mad .

Just called quitline. Feel bit better after a chat. Thanks back on track panic station averted. This is not a ad for them ok. Just something I had to do for myself.

Don't give up Marg, those nicotine receptors in you brain fight dirty but if you outlast them they will eventually run out of steam.

Thanks Bill44 yes they do fight dirty, after my talk I don't feel like I failed putting a patch on after not using any nico devices for 5days. I cant seem to stop the tears this morning but I know it is 'normal' now what I am going through, it just scared me that's all. NO CIGS FOR ME :) And I will be ok.

A lot have problems between day 51 and day 60.

My worst period was in the 60's days, between 61 & 69 but once through that patch things seemed to get easier, so hang in. You can do it.

How long can you have cravings for? Is this something that goes on for years?

Hi Marg

I am glad that you have gotten better after your sickness the other so. I think now is a good time to get back on the patches as it seems that you aren't ready to go without the use of anything. It isn't failure when you need to put a patch back on. I think it is brave to recognize that you need the help still. Eventually you won't need anything but right now keep going with it. And Gerry....you are right in those days as it happened to me too. I am on day 69 now but last week was a killer for me.

Good luck and keep us informed on how you are going.

Thanks everyone, having a better day ,went back on patch so I prob wasnt ready.

Tracie for me it wasn't a craving ,I didn't want a cig it was more a symptom of the body adjusting to its new life.I didn't want to reach for a cig although some confuse it for a cig but in saying that the patch calmed me. Confused ... so am I lol.

The body is just having some adjustments to make. I am going with it as I smoked for many moons so it is only natural that things will be in shock of the change ,just got to get through it.

Hey MargM

forget get it its your brain "confused no nico to look forward to " I had a little trouble with it but find a new track a positive throught i had my Great Grand Son he was my light at end of tunnel he's just turn 1 year old thats when I stoped smoking so we both had a great 1st birthday. I mean its in the last 12 months that has been the real eye opener to me able to walk up stairs! Run and play ball take the other G/Kids fishing .My wife says its very quiet now that I have stoped coughing all the time

so as i always say JUST REMEMBER ONE DAY AT A TIME Thats all you can do! One thing find a baker shop stand out the front then take a deep breath try to remember the last time that it smelt so good

All the best REMEMBER JUST ONE DAY AT A TIME I'll keep my eye out for your progress
