Milestones Are Great

Well it has been 100 days since I had a cigarette. I was 40 a day for over 35 years. Started the quit process by being in hospital for 3 days where one cannot smoke and continued it cold turkey from then on. Not at all easy but I never thought it would be. Like this site says, there is no one way to do it. Figure out what is best for YOU and do it that way. As I said cold turkey was best for me as the challenge was what kept me going. I always had, and still have an open packet of cigarettes sitting on my kitchen bench but I'm yet to touch them. Yes I still want a cigarette several times a day but that's the habit that takes so long to break. Celebrate your milestones whether it's 1 day. 3 days, a week, 10 days and so on. Encouragement from others is good but the encouragement you get from yourself is even better. I won't smoke today and I'll confront tomorrow when it arrives.
