NRT is the key for me

Today is day 21 and I'm doing ok. I'm using NRT patches plus gum for times I really crave a ciggie. I find the patches alone not enough, but I've decreased the gum from 6 pieces a day in the first week  to 1 or 2 a day now. I've done this by recognising the craving and telling myself that if I still feel it in 10 minutes I'll have some gum. Most times the craving passes and I forget to even check the time - this amazes me! For the times when the craving is still there I pop in a piece of gum and find I can concentrate & get on with things just fine.

I'm 47 and have tried to give up many times before but this is the first time Ive used patches & gum together like this and it is working for me. This site helps too - reading your stories and sharing experiences. I feel I'm on a winner with this trifecta.
