I stopped smoking in March this year only to crack 3 months later. I was using the patches and also reading Allan Carrs book. I am now wanting to quit again but don't know if I can do it without the patches. I'd be interested to hear of peoples' experience using Champix; I've heard about the nausea and bad dreams.

I'm on my last packet now and going to the Dr tomorrow to get some Champix. Experiences with Champix would be great

Thanks

Champix has been pretty good so far for me. I have been quit for about a week- tried many times but never succeeded so champix has been great for me. I have experienced vivid dreams but nothing more unusual than any other- and the sick feeling is tolerable and is minimised if you eat before taking the tablets as reccommended.

Good luck with quitting.

I stopped with Champix and it was amazing for me. I am up to 94 days going strong. I didn't have any dreams that stood out as more vivid or unusual and I agree with Amyy, if I ate before I took the tablets then nausea was not an issue.

good luck :)

I stopped smoking with champix over a year ago. It worked wonders for me and I havn't touched a smoke since the day I quit. I did have some side effects. Insomnia was really bad, did not have a good night sleep for the whole time I was taking the tablets and I also had nausea, mainly with the morning tablet, but if I took it with food it made it abit more bearable. In saying that, I was able to put up with the side effects as they were not going to kill me, but if I continued smoking that eventually would have. Best of luck with your quit journey:)

Champix has been working great for me also. I've been taking Champix for 5 weeks now and havent had any side effects except a little nausea and some strange dreams. I agree with Amyy and live_longer, you really need to eat before taking the pills.

I wish you the best of luck :)

Thanks everyone. I got the Champix today and start taking them in the morning. I have a great Dr who also does Acupuncture and he said if I have any problems with the Champix he will help me with the acupuncture as well!

Roughly, what is the best time to take them at night?

Hey Gayl welcome back. Give it your best shot - no excuses this time. Read Alan Carrs Easyway to stop smoking book. That and champix have kept me smoke free for 324 days now. Champix initially then the de-brainwash by Alan Carr. Good combo. You go girl!!
