I was going so well...until my mother died very suddenly from meningitis. A young 75year old, healthy, fit and still teaching, it seemed to me that no matter what we do with our lives, when your number's up, it's up. I know it's stupid, but I immediately relapsed and so did my sister who had also quit! I am now ashamed of myself, but am having difficulty getting in the right frame of mind to quit again.

Don't be too hard on yourself. After such a devastating loss a lapse is understandable and forgiveable. Now, try with your sister to plan your next quit. Know that your mum would want you to, and that she will be barracking for you. If cold turkey is too hard, consider some help as Penrith suggests, or one of the other aids which you and your sister think will suit you. For me, staying in touch with this website has helped me greatly.

Hey Holly, read Toshka14's "How I started to stop". You and your sister could try being quit buddies, like Toshka14 and her friend.
